A web designer in Auckland, available when you are.
Little Goat is an Auckland web designer working evenings and weekends — which is when most tradies and small business owners are actually free to talk about their website.
Nine to five is exactly when you're on a roof.
Evenings and weekends is the point, not an apology
Most web designers work the same hours you do. That is the problem.
If you are on the tools, the hours when a designer wants a briefing call are exactly the hours you are being paid to be somewhere else. So the call gets pushed to next week. Then the week after. The website becomes the thing you will sort out over winter, and winter arrives and you are busier than ever.
Little Goat runs outside a day job, so replies come in the evenings and at weekends. That is when most tradies and small business owners are actually free to think about a website, and it is why the arrangement works.
It is worth being straight about the other half of that, because it cuts both ways. You will not always get an answer inside the hour on a Tuesday afternoon. You will get one that evening, and it will come from the person actually building the site rather than from someone relaying a message.
What “near me” actually gets you
Hardly anybody types the words “near me” and means them literally. Google adds the location itself: search “web designer” or “plumber” from an Auckland phone and you get Auckland results, whether or not you asked for them. Local is the default, not a filter.
Which means being local is not something a website can claim its way into. It is decided by a handful of unglamorous things, and they are worth knowing whoever builds your site.
The ongoing half of that — keeping the profile active, watching the positions, fixing what the weekly audit finds — is the search work, and it runs every week rather than at launch. The build itself is the same one every small business gets, words included.
“Near me” isn't really a phrase people type. It's what Google assumes when they don't.
Send it through tonight.
Tell me what you do and which parts of Auckland you work in. You'll get a reply in the evening or over the weekend, with both prices in it.
Questions people ask
Do you only work with Auckland businesses?
No. Little Goat is based in Auckland and works with businesses right across New Zealand, plus a few overseas.
Auckland matters for the conversation rather than for the build — same time zone, same market, and I know what the competition here looks like. The work itself does not depend on being down the road, and none of it needs a site visit.
When can I actually talk to you?
Evenings and weekends, New Zealand time. Little Goat runs outside a day job and says so openly rather than pretending to office hours it does not keep.
In practice that suits most trade and service businesses better than the alternative, because it is the same reason you cannot take a nine-thirty call on a Wednesday. If you need someone answering the phone during business hours, that is worth knowing before you start rather than after.
How do I show up when someone searches for a web designer near me?
Four things decide local results, and only one of them is the website.
A Google Business Profile that is claimed, complete and kept active does the most work. Your business name, address and phone number need to match character for character everywhere they appear. You need a real page for each area you actually serve, not fifty near-identical suburb pages. And the site has to load quickly, because local searches happen on phones on mobile data. All four are in the packs.
Do you set up Google Business Profile?
Yes, in every pack — claimed, filled in and optimised as part of the build, with no separate charge.
Auckland designers commonly bill around $100 for this as an add-on; that figure is published at smallbusinesswebdesigns.co.nz/pricing and was verified on 24 August 2026. It is included here because a local business without a complete profile is invisible in exactly the searches it most needs to win, and leaving it as an optional extra means it does not get done.
Does it matter that you are not in my suburb?
Not for your rankings. What matters is where your business is and which areas your pages genuinely cover, not where the person who built the site sits.
The location signals Google reads are all yours: your Google Business Profile, your address details wherever they appear online, and the area pages on your own site. A designer in your street cannot lend you any of those, and a designer across town cannot cost you any of them either.
